Hirsutism (HUR-soot-iz-um) is a condition of unwanted, male-pattern hair growth in women resulting in excessive amounts of dark, course hair on body areas where men typically grow hair — face (particularly chin), chest and back. Before your DPL Permanent Hair Reduction treatment
- Stop waxing or tweezing the area for at least 4 weeks prior to appointment.
- Shave area 1-2 days before treatment, 1mm of protruding hair is ideal.
- Avoid direct sun exposure and sun beds for at least 4 weeks prior to treatment.
- Always use a broad spectrum sunscreen.
- No self/spray tan for 2 weeks prior to treatment.
- Not suitable if you suffer from epilepsy, skin cancer, diabetes, heart disease or are pregnant.
After your DPL Permanent Hair Reduction treatment
- Do not shave for 2-3 days after treatment.
- Do not wax, tweeze or depilate between DPL treatments.
- Broad spectrum sunscreen is recommended at all times.
- Hydrate body by drinking lots of water.
- Avoid active skin products for 3-4 days following treatment.
- Do not expose skin to UV (sun exposure or sun beds) or self/spray tan for at least 2 weeks after treatment.
